Healthy Eating

Mealtimes at the nursery are greeted enthusiastically by the children!

We serve home-cooked meals that are both fresh and nutritious, and where every possible using locally sourced ingredients. Having taken the advice of a trained nutritionist we feel confident that we provide a varied and changing menu that appeals to our children.

We recognise that the food our children eat affects every aspect of their lives: their mood, behaviour, growth, even their ability to concentrate. Good nutrition is vital to a child’s health from building strong bones and teeth to the healthy development of internal organs and general growth.

Vegetarian options are available on request and special diets can be catered for by arrangement. Fresh fruit is always available as an alternative pudding / dessert. Drinks: milk, water or diluted fruit juice, are available throughout the day.

If your child has any specific requirements or special dietary requirements, please inform the Nursery Manager and we will cater for your child on an individual basis.

What if my baby is on breast milk?
We welcome you to bring expressed milk in to Nursery in bottles labelled with your child’s name. This will be given to your child at the times you state and we will record how much your child has had.

The nursery is regularly inspected by the Environmental Health Agency and proudly displays their certificate for very good standards of hygiene.

We are committed to using local sourced ingredients where possible. The children enjoy a range of fresh seasonal fish that is delivered directly to the nursery from a local fishmonger.

All meals are prepared fresh at the nursery, and parents are welcome to inspect our kitchen and read our nutrition policy at any time.

Although our menus are subject to change (particularly according to seasons), these are the current menu’s that are on a rolling four weekly cycle.

Please see the weekly ‘Friday Flyer’ for the current week’s menus.
